Changes are a-brewin’ with NLFM this year as the show enters its second season.
First of all, we’re shrinking and growing at the same time. Is your mind blown yet? Tell the rest of the goo in your skull to stay calm, as what this means is that while the average episode will shrink in length, we’re ditching the whole monthly schedule shenanigans and going weekly. Yes, weekly.
For the time being, at least. Until we collapse under the weight of a regular schedule.
Second, to help make contributions and requests easier, we’ve got ourselves our very own
Soundcloud dropbox. So if you’ve cooked up an original tune and want us to play it on the show, just drop it in the box. As the name implies.
So yeah, new year, new podcast! Here’s what Baby New Year dragged along this time, the scamp:
1. Ryo Nagamatsu — Melty Monster Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wii)
2. Psilodump — Metronomnom (Metronomnomnom)
3. Naoki Kodaka — Title Theme (Journey to Silius, NES)
4. Bryface — Thought Process
5. The J. Arthur Keenes Band — Colour Television
6. Matt Harwood — Area 51 (3-1) (Alien Hominid, Gamecube/PS2/Xbox/XBLA)
7. Kenji Yamamoto — Music Madness (Donkey Kong Country Returns, Wii)

In case you’ve missed out on the fun so far, NLFM generally focuses on music from games playable on Nintendo consoles and handhelds, which, thanks to the Virtual Console, also includes the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Master System, Turbografx-16, Neo Geo and Commodore 64. It’s not all games either as we highlight chip musicians and albums we really like, as well as your own original gaming compositions.
To prevent the death of freedom that comes with missing episodes, subscribe to our Podcast feed (using iTunes) or download it using this direct link. You can also find us on iTunes (don’t forget to rate us!) and drop requests or suggestions in our Soundcloud dropbox, so show the podcasts some love as there is plenty more good stuff lined up for the future.
